Cricket Desk: Opener Ajinkya Rahane missed his maiden IPL hundred by a whisker, as he was out for 98. However, he powered Rajasthan Royals to a 31-run victory over Kings XI Punjab in IPL 5 tonight.

 

Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan Royals scored 191/4 in 20 overs. Rahane scored 98 off 66 balls with 16 boundaries and 1 six. Dravid made 28, while Brad Hodge scored 21. For KXIP, James Faulkner took two wickets.

 

Chasing a victory target of 192, Kings XI Punjab finished at 160/9 in 20 overa and lost the match by 31 runs. Gilchrist (27), Mandeep Singh (34) and Bipul Sharma (18) were the top contributors.

 

For Rajasthan Royals, Kevon Cooper took four wickets, while Ankeet Chavan took two wickets. Ajinkya Rahane was declared 'Man of the Match'.
