Cricket Desk: The Kings XI Punjab caused a major upset by beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings in a closely fought IPL 5 match tonight. They won by 7 runs.

Earlier, Punjab won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 156/8 in 20 overs. Mandeep Singh (56) and Shaun Marsh (32) were the top contributors. Albie Morkel took three wickets, while Dwayne Bravo took two wickets.

The Chennai Super Kings tried hard, but could manage to score just 149/8 in 20 overs. Faf du Plessis (29), Badrinath (25) and Dwayne Bravo (30) were the major run scorers. Azhar Mahmood took three wickets, while Piyush Chawla took two wickets. Mandeep Singh was declared 'Man of the Match'.
