Cricket Desk: The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 47 runs to move to the second spot in the IPL 5 points table. Â KKR won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding high on skipper Gautam Gambhir's 93 off 51 balls with 9 boundaries and 5 sixes, they posted 190/4 in 20 overs. Brendon McCullum scored 43. Kallis contributed 41. Vinay Kumar took two wickets. Â Chasing a victory target of 191, Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to accelerate their run rate. Despite Chris Gayle's 86 off 58 balls (7 boundaries and 6 sixes), they could manage just 143/6 in 20 overs and lost the match by 47 runs. Kallis took two wickets. Gambhir was declared 'Man of the Match'. |
