Cricket Desk: The DLF IPL match between Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai tonight turned out to be an absolute thriller.  Mumbai clinched a cliffhanger in the last ball.

Although Sachin Tendulkar (74) and Rohit Sharma (60) led the brilliant chase, it was Dwayne Smith, who pulled off a sensational win by scoring 14 runs off the last three balls (6,4,4) in the 20th over bowled by Ben Hilfenhaus.

Earlier, Mumbai had won the toss and elected to field first. Chennai scored 173/8 in 20 overs. Murali Vijay (41), Suresh Raina (36), Dwayne Bravo (40) and Dhoni (25) were the top contributors. RP Singh and Lasith Malinga took three wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 174, Mumbai Indians lost James Franklin early. However, Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma added 126 runs for the second wicket to make things look easier.

Mumbai had dominated the match till the 17th over despite Sachin's departure in the 16th over. Sachin scored 74 off 44 balls. They needed just 27 runs from the last three overs. However, things changed dramatically after Jadeja took two wickets in the 18th over and conceded just two runs.

Mumbai lost two more wickets in the penultimate over, giving a clear edge to Chennai Super Kings. Hilfenhaus took the wicket of Malinga in the last over to give another jolt to Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai needed 14 runs off the last three balls. Chennai's victory looked certain. However, Dwayne Smith had something else in mind. He hit Hilfenhaus for a massive six and then two consecutive boundaries to power his team to a victory.

Mumbai reached 174/8 in 20 overs and won the match by two wickets. Dwayne Smith remained unbeaten on 24 off 9 balls. Hilfenhaus, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.

Dwayne Smith was declared 'Man of the Match'. Mumbai Indians continue to be on the third spot of the IPL 5 points table. They now have 14 points from 11 matches.
