Cricket Desk: The Kings XI Punjab kept their semifinal hopes alive in the IPL 5 with a 25-run victory over the lowly-placed Deccan Chargers. The Deccans are having a disastrous tournament this year.

 

Kings XI Punjab had posted 170/5 in 20 overs. Mandeep Singh was the top scorer with 75 off 48 balls. Shaun Marsh scored 22, while David Miller remained unbeaten on 28. Asish Reddy took two wickets.

Chasing a victory target of 171, Deccan Chargers finished at 148/5 in 20 overs and lost the match by 25 runs. Dan Harris scored 30, while Sangakkara made 24. For KXIP, Praveen Kumar, Awana and David Hussey took two wickets each. Mandeep Singh was declared 'Man of the Match'.
