Cricket Desk: Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs to regain the third spot in the IPL points table. Rohit Sharma hit a magnificent hundred. Â Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost Tendulkar early, but Rohit Sharma and Herschelle Gibbs added unbeaten 167 runs for the second wicket. Â Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 109 off 60 balls with 12 boundaries and 5 sixes. Gibbs remained not out on 66 off 58 balls. Â Chasing a victory target of 183, KKR lost Bisla and Gambhir for just 3 runs on board. Despite the efforts of Jacques Kallis (79), Manoj Tiwary (27) and Yusuf Pathan (40*), KKR finished at 155/4 in 20 overs and lost by 27 runs. Rohit Sharma was declared 'Man of the Match'. |
