Cricket Desk: The Chennai Super Kings scored an emphatic victory over the leaders Delhi Daredevils to brighten their hopes of making it to the semifinals. They are placed fourth in the IPL 5 points table now. Â Chennai won the toss and elected to field first. The Delhi Dardevils failed with the bat and managed to post just 114/5 in 20 overs. Yogesh Nagar was the top scorer with unbeaten 43, while Venugopal Rao made 27. Ben Hilfenhaus took three wickets. Â Chasing a victory target of 115, Chennai hardly experienced any difficulties and reached the target in just 15.2 overs by losing a single wicket. Mike Hussey scored 38, while Murali Vijay remained unbeaten on 48. Raina remained not out on 28. Hilfenhaus was declared 'Man of the Match'. Â Delhi Daredevils are leading the IPL 5 points table with 18 points from 13 matches. Kolkata Knight Riders are placed second with 17 points from 13 matches. Mumbai Indians have 16 points from 13 matches. Â The Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have 15 points each. However, RCB have played 13 matches, while CSK have played 14 matches so far. |
