Punjab beat Deccan Chargers in IPL 5 PDF Print E-mail

Cricket Desk: The bowlers and fielders yet again let the team down, as Deccan Chargers slumped to another defeat in the IPL 5. They lost to Kings XI Punjab by four wickets.

 

It was a last ball finish, as Punjab sealed the victory in the last ball. They needed 16 runs from the last over. And, Gurkeerat Singh hit two boundaries and a six to power his team to a win.

 

Deccan won the toss and elected to bat first. They did well to post 190/4 in 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan (71), Cameron White (67*) and Daniel Christian (24) were the top contributors. Azhar Mahmood took two wickets.

 

Chasing a victory target of 191, Kings XI Punjab reached 194/6 in 20 overs. Mandeep Singh (28), Azhar Mahmood (31), David Hussey (65*) and Gurkeerat Singh (29*) were the top contributors. Dale Steyn and Daniel Christian took two wickets each. David Hussey was declared 'Man of the Match'.
