Breaking News! In a big development today, slain Maoist leader Kishenji's aide Suchitra Mahato surrendered before the West Bengal Police. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claimed that she was with Kishenji when he was killed in an encounter.

 

The encounter had taken place on November 24 at Burisole jungle. Suchitra was present with him during the gunbattle and fled from the spot with injuries.

 

Mamata Banerjee, flanked by Suchitra Mahato and her husband Prabir Garai, termed the development as a big achievement for the government and the Maoists. The CM further claimed that Suchitra responded to the government's offer of peace and asked all Maoists to follow suit.
