By Raja Mishra: While the world is gearing up to witness the extravaganza of 84th Academy Awards (Oscars) on Sunday night, we have made some predictions based on people's choice and critics' reviews.

 

'The Artist' may emerge as the big winners at this year's Oscars. 'The Help' may also win a few awards.

 

Here are our Predictions:

 

Best Picture - The Artist

2nd in Line - Hugo

 

Best Director - Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist)

2nd in Line - Martin Scorsese - Hugo

 

Best Actor - Jean Dujardin (The Artist)

2nd in Line - George Clooney (The Descendants)

 

Best Actress - Viola Davis (The Help)

2nd in Line - Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady)

 

Best Supporting Actor - Christopher Plummer (Beginners)

Best Supporting Actress - Octavia Spencer (The Help)

 

Best Writing – Original Screenplay - Midnight in Paris – Woody Allen

2nd in Line - The Artist – Michel Hazanavicius

 

Adapted Screenplay - Moneyball – Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin

2nd in Line - The Descendants – Alexander Payne, Nat Faxon, and Jim Rash

 

Best Animated Feature - Rango

2nd in Line - Puss in Boots

 

Best Foreign Language Film - A Separation (Iran)

Best Original Score - The Artist – Ludovic Bource
