Entertainment Desk: Vidya Balan, the National Award winning actor, who had created a buzz for her acting in the blockbuster hit ‘the dirty picture’ is all set to move for a cleanliness campaign.

Balan has been roped in as the new brand ambassador for the sanitation campaign launched by the Union Ministry for Rural Development. She will be campaigning for two years as a brand ambassador for the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India.

The Sanitation programme mainly aims to rid the country from defecation by 2017. Balan would support sanitation issues in audio and visual advertisements and also will appear in two functions in a year for the cause.

The actor will also appear in the posters to promulgate construction and use of toilets, habit of hand washing, personal hygiene and managing waste, said Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh on Thursday in Delhi.

However, Vidya along with her team (in this mission) wants to make sanitation a 'national obsession'.

Vidya Balan said that she feels honored to be a part of the Sanitation campaign and will do everything in her capacity to make the same successful.

It is also heard that superstar Shah Rukh Khan has also agreed to join the campaign shortly.
