By Himanshu Guru: While the oppositions and civil society groups have been attacking the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for endless scams and corruptions, it completed 8 years at the Center.

Especially during the second term, it seems corruption has become the order of the day. Among the top corruptions in the list are the 2G scam, scam during the Commonwealth games, Aadarsh Society scam and many more to name.

Despite the presence of a veteran Economist like Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister, rational economic decision making has been pushed into the background.

The government runs with uncertainty over passage of important economic legislations and decisions like FDI in retail.

Since last one year the government is shifting from one crisis to another presenting a picture completely different from its first term. Neither economically nor in social aspects has the government shown any memorable achievement or development.

Economist-turned-politician Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who even risked his government in the first term on the Indo-US nuclear deal, appears to have been pounded by scams this time.

Crucial allies like Trinamool Congress, which appears to have more in common with those outside the government, have put paid to implementing decisions like FDI in retail or the setting up of an anti-terror hub National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).

Even for the coming Presidential election it seems that the UPA is yet to present a candidate.

Whenever the country expected a definite step from the Government it just moved back showing coalition compulsions to be the excuse, but is that enough?
