London: A new study conducted by the American researchers led by Dr. Cristiane Lin revealed that some of the Indian spices are dangerous for children, as they could increase the risk of lead poisoning.

The researchers, who conducted the study, are from the Harvard School of Public Health. They identified Asafetida, Henna, Kohl, Mustard Seeds and Tamarind Candy with Kumkum as risky spices.

According to the researchers, these spices contain lead levels higher than permitted by European Union and the US Foods and Drug Administration.
