News Desk: Beverages like tea and coffee contribute to a person's liquid need and despite their caffeine content, do not lead to dehydration – claims a study. The researchers suggest that taking tea is as good as water for keeping body hydrated.

The study says that although our human body needs around two liters of liquid daily, this does not necessarily have to be water rather it can also be received from consuming foods and other drinks.

These drinks may be even Tea or coffee, said Dr Tsindos, from La Trobe University, Victoria. The doctor says that we are drinking abundant water without valid reason.

To support his point the researcher argues that the concept of bottled came only before 30 years, which has been considered as a fashion-symbol these days. But even before that people were keeping their bodies hydrated consuming other fluids and food stuffs of course including water.

While consumption of at least eight glasses of water daily has been prescribed by the Australian Authorities to keep us hydrated, the researcher advocates that this demand can be fulfilled by providing the body other foods and fluids besides water.

According to the doctor, Humans need to maintain fluid balance and need to drink water when required but should also consider the fluid in unprocessed fruits, vegetables and juices.

Lastly, the study advocates for a combination of food and water dose which should be preferred to simply water.
