Melbourne: According to a recent study conducted by the Monash University in Australia, obese people feel uncomfortable when it comes to losing weight. They feel powerless and helpless to go for that, it is reported.

The researchers interviewed 141 obese Australians to learn how they react, when talked about weight loss. Most of severely obese people blamed themselves for their weight and said that they feel at war with their bodies more often.

Interestingly, most of the obese people were scared and worried about the potential health consequences, but they also believe that they have no option but to carry on their overweight status.

Most of them want to distance themselves from public health messages about obesity and the word obesity because of the social stigma attached to the condition. People with moderate obesity do not see any big reason to shed some pounds. They do not consider this as a high health priority.
