15 die of Swine Flu, India Toll goes up to 1,294 PDF Print E-mail

New Delhi: According to latest reports, 15 A H1N1 deaths were reported across the country, taking the Swine Flu death toll in India to 1,294. Six deaths were reported on Thursday, while the remaining nine occurred earlier, but confirmed yesterday.

 

Out of the six fresh deaths, five occurred in Maharashtra, while one person died in Gujarat. Out of the previous nine Swine Flu deaths, four each occurred in Gujarat and Rajasthan, while Maharashtra too reported one.

 

Maharashtra now accounts for 337 Swine Flu deaths - highest in the country, followed by Gujarat (263), Rajasthan (186), Karnataka (141), Delhi (95), Andhra Pradesh (52), Punjab (39), Kerala (37), Haryana (37), Madhya Pradesh (24), Uttar Pradesh (18), and Uttarakhand (13).

 

As many as 36 new cases of Swine Flu were reported in India yesterday, taking the number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 29,231. Maharashtra reported 12 fresh cases, while Rajasthan reported 12 cases.
