News Desk: We are getting the confirmation just now that Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi resigned from his post, ending the political uncertainty that lasted for four days. Â Mamata Banerjee, who is reaching Delhi, has reportedly had a telephonic conversation with Trivedi to force him to step down. She has proposed the name of Mukul Roy as the next Railway Minister. Â Dinesh Trivedi has reportedly sent his resignation to the Prime Minister. It is learnt that Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will reply to the Railway Budget there won't be any roll back in the passenger fare hike. Â Trivedi earned Mamata's wrath after he defied her and went for the fare hike across the board. He also refused to roll back and wanted a written statement from Mamata that she wanted him to resign. |
