News Desk: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the third accused in connection with the RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case. The accused is suspected to have supplied arms to the shooter.
Tabish was arrested during a raid at his Bekanganj residence in Kanpur conducted by the CBI and Special Task Force (STF) jointly on Sunday evening.
The raid was conducted on the basis of inputs given by shooter Irfan during questioning.
Tabish has been taken to Lucknow for interrogation. Irfan was arrested on February 27. During interrogation, he had confessed that he and two others were paid Rs 3 lakh to kill Shehla in Bhopal last year.
Meanwhile, the BJP MLA Dhruv Narayan Singh is under the CBI scanner for his alleged role in the murder case. He has been questioned thrice in the case. He will be going through a detector test soon.
Three persons including city-based interior designer Zahida Pervez, her assistant Saba Farooqi and Shakib Ali 'Danger' have been arrested so far.
In the preliminary investigation, the agency found that Singh had close relationship with the victim Shehla Masood and he was also close to the prime accused Zahida Parvez, who was recently arrested for conspiring in the murder case.
