Gadchiroli: The Naxal struck once again in Maharashtra. At least 15 CRPF jawans were killed and dozens were injured on Tuesday in a landmine blast triggered by the red rebels in Gadchiroli district.

The blast took place when the troops were reportedly travelling in a bus from Pushtola to Gatta on operational duty. Several other jawans were injured when the Naxals blew up the bus carrying troops. The jawans belonged to the CRPF's 192 Battalion.

The CRPF officials said that the death toll could increase as the bus full of CRPF personnel was targeted. The intensity of the blast is high. A reinforcement team has been rushed to the area.

However, it will be difficult for rescue operation in the area immediately as the area around Pushtola is isolated. A rescue helicopter has reached the spot and the injured personnel were taken to Gadchiroli.

Officials said that CRPF Chief K Vijay Kumar is on a tour of Maharashtra and he is on his way to visit the attack site in Gadchiroli area.
