Mumbai: Stock analyst Gautam Vora has been arrested by Mumbai police in connection with the murder case of a Delhi-based businessman Arun Kumar Tikku. He is accused of helping a key accused Vijay Palande.
Police said on Monday that Vora was arrested after a key accused Palande escaped from police custody. Vora had allegedly helped Palande to go into hiding soon after he escaped from police custody. Palande was arrested on April 10 on charges of killing the 62-year-old Tikku on April 7 in Mumbai.
Palande had escaped from police custody few hours after his arrest by jumping from the police vehicle in suburban Andheri. He later approached Vora.
He was about to leave the country and fly to Thailand after his escape. He was nabbed along with Dhananjay Shinde and Manoj Gajkosh, all former associates of gangster Santosh Shetty, in connection with the murder case. Â
The Delhi-based businessman Tikku was found killed in the bathroom of his first floor three-bedroom apartment in Lokhandwala Complex on April 7. Around six to eight stab wounds were found on his abdomen and his neck was tied by a computer chord.
Palande had met victim's actor-son Anuj Tikku by the help of Bollywood artist Simran Sood introducing himself as Karan Sood. He told Anuj Tikku that Simran was his sister.
