Gold Prices surge on Akshaya Tritiya |

News Desk: The gold prices rose to fresh two-month high by Rs 29,100 per 10 grams on Tuesday for the Hindu festival of 'Akshaya Tritiya'. The rise was last seen on February 23.
The demand for gold increased on 'Akshaya Tritiya', which is considered as an auspicious day for buying the precious yellow metal.
Gold traders said the yellow metal even remained strong in last few sessions as customers continued buying for the auspicious occasion ignoring the weak economy.
On Tuesday, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity rose by Rs 30 to Rs 29,100 and Rs 28,960 per 10 grams.
However, silver prices fell by Rs 275 to Rs 56,300 per kg. Even the weekly-based delivery of the metal declined by Rs 1,200 to Rs 55,800 per kg. But the Silver coins remained unchanged at Rs 64,000 for buying and Rs 65,000 for selling of 100 pieces.
