Quakes hit Nicobar Islands, No Casualty PDF Print E-mail

News Desk: Two moderate-intensity earthquakes measuring 5.2 and 5.7 magnitudes respectively hit the Nicobar Islands in India on Wednesday. However, there were no reports of any casualty or damage so far.


The officials said that there is no threat of Tsunami. The first quake measuring 5.2 magnitude hit the islands at around 01:23:21 pm at 8.973°N, 93.963°E, 326 km South South East of Port Blair.


The second quake hit the same region at around 1:42:24 pm at a depth of 13.8 km.
