News Desk: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar finally broke his silence and put all speculations into rest that he is going to join politics. "I am a sportsman. Cricket is my life. I will live with sports forever," he said.

On the issue of his nomination to Rajya Sabha, Tendulkar said that it was an honour bestowed on him by the President of India on the basis of his contribution to sports.

"In the past Lata Mangeshkar and many other dignitaries were also nominated to Rajya Sabha. I was also nominated to Rajya Sabha, but this does not mean that I am going to join active politics. I am not a politician. I am a sportsman and will remain so forever," he said.

"I am happy that I got this rare honour after playing for the country for the last 22 years. I got everything for cricket and I am not going to quit it, said the master blaster. I will keep contributing to cricket always, he further added.

Sachin was speaking at a convention in Pune and answered all queries put by the journalists. He also expressed confidence that he would contribute to the Parliament in the best possible way. Sachin's fans and people in India will heave a sigh of relief today, as he made it clear that he is not quitting cricket for politics.
