Ghaziabad: Nupur Talwar will have to stay in jail for another day as the sessions court in Ghaziabad on Tuesday reserved its order on her bail plea in Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case.

After hearing the arguments from both sides (defence and the prosecution) on Tuesday, Additional District Judge S Lal reserved the order on the bail application of Nupur, who has already spent yesterday night in jail.

Nupur's lawyer argued that an interim bail should be granted to her as her reputation would be hampered if she is sent to jail. He claimed that the CBI, which is probing the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, does not have enough evidence against her.

The layer also claimed that Nupur had undergone scientific tests like lie detection and polygraphy, but nothing was found against her. Even the finger prints found in the crime scene did not match with Nupur.

Her lawyer argued that since her husband Rajesh Talwar has been given bail, she should also be given bail on parity basis as she is a woman.

However, CBI’s counsel opposed her bail plea, saying Rajesh Talwar was not on regular bail and his bail was under review. So, there is no question of giving parity, the lawyer argued.

Nupur had moved the sessions court after her bail plea was rejected by the special CBI court on Monday.
