News Desk: The recent shootout in broad day light in Gorakhpur showed that the law and order situation has been completely damaged in Uttar Pradesh and the crimes are happening openly.

Reacting to the incident, a minister of Uttar Pradesh said that even God cannot control crime in the state. His statement suggested that the law and order situation in the state is worst affected.

The Uttar Pradesh Minister for Stamp, Court Fees and Registration Durga Prasad Yadav said, "Crime keeps on happening. Even God cannot stop it. Strict action needs be taken against the culprits".

The law and order was questioned after six gunmen attacked a Samajwadi Party worker in broad daylight outside a market in Gorakhpur on Tuesday. Around four people including a little boy were critically injured in the incident.

The gunmen were on two bikes and opened fire in a busy street. According to local media reports, they were targeting Pappu Nishaad, a local leader associated with the Samajwadi Party.

The attackers entered into the busy street chasing the SP worker and opened fire. The police termed it a "gang war", which is triggered by the political rivalry.
