Breaking News! In a big blow to former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered the CBI probe against him in mining scam. The agency was asked to submit its report by August 3.

The apex court appointed CEC (Central Empowered Committee) recommended the CBI probe against the BJP leader, who is aspiring to be reinstated as the Chief Minister of the state.

The court ordered that all the cases and probes underway against him will be stayed. Yeddyurappa is accused of favouring the mining companies for his financial gains and receiving money from JSW Steel. He is also accused of denotifying land in Bangalore and received Rs 5 crore kickbacks to issue mining licences in Chitradurga-Tumkur districts of Karnataka.

It is the difficult period for BJP to keep the Lingayat votes intact in the upcoming assembly polls. The congress may take the advantage of the court's order against the BJP strongman in the state.
