News Desk: The Lok Sabha began with the uproarious scenes on Monday over BR Ambedkar cartoon in the NCERT class XI social science textbook. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee assured that the entire publication circulated will be withdrawn soon.

The cartoon row, which had forced the HRD minister Kapil Sibal to apologise in Parliament, again hit the House on the Monday. However, Mukherjee said that no political cartoons will be allowed in school textbooks and all the objectionable material would be withdrawn soon.

The Minister said that the cartoons on the leaders would not be prescribed and the publication would be withdrawn. He also assured the agitating members that action will be taken against those are involved in such acts.

A cartoon of Dr BR Ambedkar in NCERT class XI social science textbook had created ruckus in the Parliament. The dalit members objected that cartoon in the textbooks. The cartoon was made by Keshav Shankar Pillai in 1948 while the Constitution was being framed, showing its slow process.
