Chennai: The Income Tax department seized Rs. 35 crore in cash during a raid at the residence of actor-politician Chiranjeevi's daughter, Sushmita, in Chennai on Monday.


The raids were conducted on Friday and Saturday. But the I-T sleuths told the reporters today. The officials said that they have found 35 carton boxes each containing Rs. 1 crore in denominations of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000.


Chiranjeevi, who has formed the political party Praja Rajyam, might land in trouble after the seizure of a huge amount from his daughter's house.
