News Desk: At least eight security forces are reported to have been injured so far and two are missing in the encounter between the Maoists and police near tehsil in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. The gun battle is still on.

The gun battle began on Wednesday two days after the Maoists struck the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) mines area in Dantewada district on Sunday night killing six police constables and a civilian driver.

This is the third Maoist attack in the state in a week. The red rebels have blocked the national highway connecting between Sukma and Dornapal. And a nationwide bandh has been called by the Maoists on Wednesday.
