New Delhi: In a big relief to Australian cricketer and RCB player Luke Pomersbach, the Delhi High court on Friday quashed an FIR against him after the US woman Zohal Hamid withdrew the molestation charges.
Zohal withdrew the case after reaching an out-of-court settlement with Luke and RCB director Siddharth Mallya.
Justice ML Mehta quashed the FIR after hearing the recording statements of the victim Zohal, her fiance Sahil and accused Luke.
Since both the parties have resolved the dispute and want to go back to their respective countries, the FIR was quashed, the judge said on Friday. Zohal had appealed to the court not to pursue the matter further.
Luke was accused of molesting Zohal in a five-star hotel in Delhi last week. Even he had assaulted Zohal's fiance Sahil when he intervened.
