Hyderabad: A special CBI judge in Andhra Pradesh was suspended by the high court and now facing arrest for taking bribe to grant bail to mining baron Janardhan Reddy.


Judge Pattabhi Rama Rao is accused of taking Rs 6 crore bribe to grant bail to Reddy in a illegal mining case.


Sources said that the suspension and arrest of Rao came after the CBI got information that a deal worth of Rs 6 crore had been struck between Reddy and Rao for granting bail to the mining baron.


Even the CBI recovered nearly Rs 3.8 crore from a locker, whose keys were with the judge's son. After suspension, the high court gave sanction to the CBI to prosecute him.
