Breaking News! In a partial relief for common people, petrol prices will be cut by Rs 2 per litre. It will come with effect from midnight. The move came two days after the nation-wide bandh was observed against steep price hike in petrol.

The MoS Petroleum confirmed that the petrol prices were deregulated by Rs 2 per litre.

After the massive protests across the country against the petrol price hike, the government announced cut in price, which will ease people's burden partially.

Political parties even UPA allies had protested when state-run oil firms increased petrol prices by Rs 7.50 per litre last week.
