Breaking News! In a sensational development today, former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma has finally resigned from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) so that he can conest the Presidential Polls without any pressure.

Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy has announced this at a press conference this afternoon. Swamy slammed the Congress for insulting a person like Sangma's stature and revealed how there was a pressure on the tribal leader to back out of the Presidential race.

According to Swamy, Sangma was threatened with political action like expulsion etc. He was reportedly warned that his daughter Agatha Sangma could be sacked from the UPA Cabinet as well.

Swamy further said that the NDA is holding a meeting this evening to decide on the future course of action on the 2012 Presidential Polls. Meanwhile, NCP chief Sharad Pawar has accepted Sangma's resignation.
