News Desk: Karnataka Law Minister S Suresh Kumar resigned from his post today following the charges that he had secured a residential site violating rules. He resigned on moral grounds, sources said.

The minister has tendered his resignation to the Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda. However, his resignation has not been accepted yet.

The minister, who is holding the portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development, also wrote a letter to the Bangalore Development Authority surrendering the site allotted to him.

He was allotted 4000 sq feet land by the Bangalore Development Authority during former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa under the discretionary quota.

However, the allegations surfaced that he had secured allotment while his mother and daughter already posses a house and two sites in Bangalore.

He had reported the Lokayukta that the sites owned by his kin do not belong to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.
