Breaking News! Putting all rumours and speculations into rest, the Congress-led UPA Government has announced Dr. Hamid Ansari as the Vice President candidate. If elected, Dr. Ansari will get a second term in office.

While all UPA allies barring Mamata Banerjee came out in support of Dr. Ansari, the BJP will hold a meeting later today to decide its course of action.

Even if the BJP opposes Ansari's candidature and comes up with own candidate, it is almost certain that the Vice President will get a second term without much difficulties.

According to some sources, BJP may choose to back Hamid Ansari to avoid further embarrassment or stay away from the Vice Presidential polls. However, some experts believe that the Opposition may not give a walkover to Dr. Ansari.
