Nepal Bus Mishap: 36 Indians Killed PDF Print E-mail

News Desk: In a shocking tragedy today, at least 39 people, including 36 Indians were killed in a bus mishap in Southern Nepal. The incident occurred when an overcrowded bus lost balance and fell into the Triveni river.

 

The tragedy took place in Nawalparasi district which is 150 km west of Kathmandu. The pilgrims were Bol Bam devotees, who were going to participate in the festival in a temple in Triveni Ghat.

 

Most of the victims were from Uttar Pradesh. The 36 deceased included 25 men, 10 women and one child. Around 90-100 were reportedly on board the bus when the incident occurred.

 

The rescue operation is going on full swing with the joint efforts from police force and Nepalese Army. Efforts are on to locate other passengers. 20-30 people have been rescued so far. They are being treated at various hospitals.
