Breaking News! While ending the fast at Jantar Mantar after 10 days, the civil society group Team Anna finally announced the formation of a political party to bring change in the system. They also ended their fast.

Addressing the scores of Anna Hazare supporters at the fast venue, Arvind Kejriwal, a key member of Team Anna, who was on fast since over a week against corruption, announced that the Team is considering to form a political party to fight against corruption in the country.


He said that this is the time to topple the government. "Now the fight will be on the streets and inside the Parliament. This is the time for total revolution. We have not accepted the defeat at the hand of the government. The first phase of agitation was over and the next phase begins", he said.


He asked people to decide on the name of the political party. He said that the Team will tour the country and people will select their candidates. He appealed to other parties to join the team.


Just before ending the fast, Former Army Chief General VK Singh has congratulated Team Anna for fighting against corruption, supporting their decision to provide a political option to the people. Along with Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, Gopa Rai and Manish Sisodia also broke their fast.


He said, "There are many problems in the country, one of that is black money...the governance is finished and we are directionless."


He further said that Team Anna must be prepared to face "opposition from those who do not believe in democracy."
