Vilasrao Deshmukh Critical, Admitted to Chennai Hospital PDF Print E-mail

News Desk: Union science and technology minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was admitted to a hospital in Chennai after his health condition worsened on Monday. He is now on life support.


Deshmukh is suffering from a serious liver ailment and multiple organ failure, said a doctor attending to him.


His liver ailment was detected during a routine medical checkup over a year ago. His condition deteriorated on Monday. He was admitted to the hospital following the complaint of stomach pain.


A week ago, Deshmukh was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in the city where it was found that he was suffering from cirrhosis of liver and also that both his kidneys were completely non-functional.
