News Desk: Former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda, who is a key accused in the airhostess Geetika Sharma suicide case, is likely to surrender in the court on Monday. He is believed to be absconding.
Reacting to the absconding report, Kanda's brother Govind told media persons that he will surrender in the court.
However, Kanda's lawyer Kapil Sankhla said that his client would move the court on Monday, but not to surrender. He denied the report that Kanda was absconding.
"The question of surrendering doesn't arise as my client is not an absconder. It is being explored if he will appear in person," said Sankhla.
When asked the whereabouts of Kanda, he said that his client is collecting the documents related to the case and he is in touch with his lawyer.
Kanda's arrest is clear after his anticipatory bail was rejected yesterday. He along with his colleague Aruna Chadha was implicated in Geetika's suicide note.
Chadha has been sent to 2-day police custody following her arrest on Wednesday.
