Hamid Ansari takes Oath as 14th Vice President |

New Delhi: Hamid Ansari was sworn-in as the 14th Vice President of India at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday. He is the second to continue his term as the Vice President for second time after Dr S Radhakrishnan.
Ansari was administered the oath of office by President Pranab Mukherjee. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and several union cabinet ministers, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies and leaders from other political parties attended the ceremony today morning.
Ansari was re-elected as the Vice President in the poll held on August 7. He won the poll bagging 490 votes out of 728, while his opponent NDA candidate Jaswant Singh got 238 votes.
