Breaking News! The CAG report on Coalgate, which was tabled in the Parliament today, has revised the loss from the allocation of coal blocks to Rs 1.8 lakh crore from Rs 10.67 lakh crore. The CAG concluded that some top private companies were the ultimate beneficiaries in the coal block allocation.

The CAG further recommended competitive and transparent bidding. The CAG report also made three strict recommendations to the Coal Ministry. The BJP held the PM responsible for the loss, as he was holding the additional charge of Coal Ministry during 2006-2009.
