Breaking News! After the Rajasthan High Court rejected the Gujjars' demand for a special 5% quota in government jobs, the Gujjars have intensified their agitation. The Centre has sent 1,500 paramilitary troops to Rajasthan to deal with the situation.

 

The central troops will work along with the Rajasthan police personnel to maintain law and order in the state in the wake of Gujjar agitation.

 

Union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai spoke to Rajasthan Chief Secretary Salauddin Ahmed to discuss the prevailing situation in Rajasthan.

 

The Rajasthan High Court not only rejected the demand for a 5% special quota for Gujjars, but also asked the Rajasthan government to justify the "backwardness" of Gujjars within a year.
