New Delhi: The Delhi High Court dismissed former Andhra Pradesh Governor ND Tiwari's plea over a paternity suit. Tiwari wanted the case to be transferred outside Delhi.

The court observed that the could be heard by the Delhi High Court, as ND Tiwari is not longer the Andhra Pradesh Governor and has an official residence in Delhi.

The 34-year-old Shekhar had claimed the 86-year-old ND Tiwari as his father and said he and his mother Ujwala Sharma have been neglected by the veteran Congress leader over the years. Shekhar also sought a DNA test to establish his relations with ND Tiwary.

The case would now come up for hearing before a single-judge bench April 7. Shekhar also said that Tiwary began neglecting him and his mother after 1995 and later refused to meet them after becoming the Uttarakhand CM.

ND Tiwari had to resign as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, after his name came up in a sex scandal. A private TV channel showed him with four women in the bedroom of Raj Bhavan.
