Bhubaneswar: While people have been demonstrating against cap on subsidised cooking gas, three LPG cylinders were stolen from the quarter of a BJD MLA in Bhubaneswar. Police said that along with cylinders, one laptop and a bicycle have been stolen by the burglars.

They blamed the local officers for failure to implement the poverty eradication programmes in the district. Balo Kumar, 55, a resident of Teli Sarahbahili village of Karlamunda Block, was allegedly hungry for some days.

Bhubaneswar: The gruesome murder of 72-year-old Jyotsna Devi Panigrahy in Acharya Vihar area of Bhubaneswar, has not only shocked the people in Bhubaneswar, but also raised serious law and order questions. Jyotsna Devi's husband, Kunja Bihari Panigrahy (75) was badly injured in the attack. He is battling for life at the Ayush Hospital.
