Orissa Govt. clears proposal for new Bauxite Mine for Nalco PDF Print E-mail

Bhubaneswar: Breaking News! The Orissa government has cleared the proposal to lease a new bauxite mine in Koraput in Orissa. The project will be undertaken by the National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco).

 

The bauxite mining project will be held for Pattangi mines in the tribal-dominated Koraput district of Orissa. The new mine is estimated to have bauxite reserves of over 70 million tonnes.

 

The Pattangi Bauxite Mines Project for Nalco was on hold for almost a decade. But the state government finally decided to give a go-ahead to the project, bring cheer to Nalcio - India's third largest aluminium maker.

 

"The Pattangi mines will be made operational within 3-5 years after getting Centre’s clearance", said Nalco sources.
