Nabarangpur: Breaking News! Common people, intellectuals and the opposition parties have taken a strong exception to the rape of minor girl students at the Badaamda Sevashrama School in Koshamguda block in Nabarangpur district in Orissa.

While the Headmaster and a teacher of the boarding schools have already been arrested in connection with the case, there is a huge demand for immediate justice and close monitoring of schools and hostels in the state where girl students are staying.

The arrested Headmaster was identified as Pradipta Sahu, while another teacher was also arrested. The third arrested person was identified as Raj Mohan Bhotra, an employee of Sevashram school run by Tribal Welfare Department at Badaamda village. A male cook, who helped them, was also arrested.

The Headmaster and the teacher reportedly raped four tribal girl students from class VII and VIII for over four months. The matter came into light when a lady teacher complained to the authorities about the incident.

The lady teacher became suspicious after two of the victims showed symptoms of early pregnancy. The State Education Minister Pratap Jena has ordered the Nabarangpur District Collector to conduct an inquiry into the incident.

All four accused were produced in the court. They were sent to jail, after their bail plea was rejected by a local court. The Orissa government has decided not to post any male teacher as in-charge of any Girls Residential School in Orissa. The government has also restricted the entry of male teachers into the hostel in the evening.
