Bhubaneswar: Odisha Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda, who was responsible for the abduction of the two Italians months back, has warned the state government for carrying out anti-Maoist operation in the rebel-hit districts.

Through an audio tape, Odisha Organising Committee of the CPI (Maoist) Panda alleged that the government did not fulfill the conditions agreed upon during the safe release of the two Italians.

Panda protested against the “Operation Sabyasachi” of the government of Odisha and warned of violence in the audio tape release.

He protested the statement of Home Secretary UN Behera made last week that the Maoists were not honoring the agreement made during the resolution of the hostage crisis. Behera had said “while the state is taking all possible efforts to maintain peace and order, Maoists continued violent activities killing innocent civilians and security personnel.”

Panda said that, in lieu of the agreement made during the safe release of the two Italian hostages, the State organizing committee had so far not committed any violence within its jurisdiction. But on the other hand while Milli Panda was falsely implicated in Nayagarh attack incident, no step was taken to free Arati Majhi, a woman cadre of Maoists.
