Bhubaneswar: Breaking News! There is very good news for people in Orissa, who wish to buy properties, as the state government has launched the e-Registration of Land Records, which will be free of all hassles. The government has also slashed the stamp duty from 13% to 5%.

The sale and purchase of lands and properties in Orissa will be made through the public-private partnership going forward. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the e-registration system in Bhubaneswar today.

The Orissa Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) have jointly formed E-Governance Services Ltd to carry out the e-registration activities in the state.

Under the new system, people can get the land documents registered within half-an-hour in a computerised format and they can also get the sale deed instantly. The Encumbrance Certificate (EC) will be available in a minute.

In addition, the state government has slashed the stamp duty for registration from 13% to 5%, bringing huge cheer to the buyers. Here's the website for e-registration of all land records in Orissa - http://bhulekh.ori.nic.in/ .Thanks to our reader Gautam for finding it.
