New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has taken a drastic step today by recommending countermanding of Rajya Sabha polls in Jharkhand in view of horse-trading allegations. Â Earlier, the EC has stopped counting of the polls that held today after Rs 2/15 crore cash were seized from a car of the relative of an Independent candidate in Ranchi. Â The vehicle belonged to the brother of RK Agarwal, who was contesting the Rajya Sabha elections from the state. Â The BJP and Left Parties have welcomed the EC's decision, saying money power was threating the democracy in Jharkhand. |
