News Desk: While the race for the Presidential poll is hotting up, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj landed in trouble for her recent remarks on Vice-President Hamid Ansari for the post of President.

Sources said that Congress is likely to move a privilege motion against her for her remarks.

Sushma on Monday had rejected the names of Hamid Ansari and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee for the post of President saying Pranab is a Congressman and Ansari is not of that stature.

She had said "albeit in passing, that Vice-President Hamid Ansari does not have the stature, which drew sharp criticism from the Congress and Left parties.

However, she had not specifically projected former President APJ Kalam as an NDA candidature, but said that the BJP would support him if the parties like TMC and SP will back him.

Reacting to her statement, CPM MP Brinda Karat said, "It is inappropriate to talk about the stature of the Vice-President".

NDA convener and Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav distanced the party from such issue saying, "Whatever Swaraj has said is the opinion of the BJP. This is not our party's view. The issue was not discussed in any NDA meeting. The BJP has not discussed the issue with us".

"Ours is a different party from the BJP. We have not discussed the matter with each other," he added.
